Getting Back Into the Training Game

Ever since I fell on my face/knees, my training for the half-marathon hasn’t been quite on schedule. Hopefully I’ll get better post-Coachella (Er, not hopefully. I have to be better with the daily training schedules and eat healthier). At the very least, I still did seven miles today for my weekly long walk/run. I did a bit more walking than I would have liked, but I still had 13-minute average miles. I’m hoping to be able to run more and get to 12-minutes, but it’s just one foot in front of the other right now. I’ve still got over two months to train. Also, I have no idea if these numbers are good, I just decided I like them. This is the right way to train, right?

Now, for a little advice: Don’t start your run at noon on the first day that it turned 90 degrees in Southern California, bring water, and find shade. I think there was shade for 1 block of my run. Well done, Emily. Well done.

Now I’m going to pretend I didn’t also have three cups of coffee and a ridiculously healthy smoothie with cacao nibs. It’s been a really energetic day. Tuesday? Now that’s gonna be ugly.

But it’s okay, because I’m listening to Positive Panda:positive panda
